Why awhitespace.net?

I wanted to build a site that would demonstrate (to myself mostly and to potential clients) that I could build a data-driven, XHTML/CSS site properly, applying the theory of web standards to real-world design problems. Building it right is one factor that has led to my name achieving the number one result for Google searches on my name!
